Master of Theology (MTh)

We educate for excellence in leadership.

The MTh in Mission is a minimum 38 credit hour course. Each credit is of two weeks of classes with 1000-page reading and assignments/ seminars.

Caleb Institute in collaboration with Martin Bucer Seminary, Germany, is offering Master of Theology in Mission (MTh), accredited by South African Theological Seminary (SATS).

Program duration: 2 Years
Program starts on 18th July 2018

*Admission Requirement: A graduate with BD/ MDiv degree or equivalent from a recognized university/ institution.

A: Required courses/ Core subjects – Total 24 Credits

  • Methodological Issues in Mission (3 Credits).
  • Biblical Theology of Mission (3 Credits).
  • Trinity, Creation and Plurality of Religions (3 Credits).
  • Christ and Reconciliation: A Constructive Christology for Pluralistic Context (3 Credits).
  • The Holy Spirit and Theology of Mission (3 Credits).
  • Culture and Mission (3 Credits).
  • History of Christian Mission (3 Credits).
  • Research Methodology (3 Credits).

B: Thesis – 5 Credits

  • 40,000 ~ 50,000 words.

C: Optional Courses / Elective subjects – Minimum 9 Credits

  • Contemporary Issues in Indian Mission (2 Credits).(2 Credits).
  • Local Church and Mission(2 Credits).
  • Ministry and Mission (2 Credits).
  • Tribal Missions and Mass Movements/ People Groups – Issues and Challenges (2 Credits).
  • Urban Mission (2 Credits).
  • Religious Fundamentalism and Persecution (2 Credits).
  • Gender Issues in Missions – Historical Perspective (2 Credits).
  • Teaching Pedagogy/ Field Practice – Teaching Project (2 Credits).
  • Mission and The Ecumenical Movements (2 Credits).
  • Mission in The Pluralistic Society – Interfaith Dialogue (2 Credits).
  • Cross Cultural Communication/ Contextualization (2 Credits).
  • Ecological Crisis, A Missiological Perspective (2 Credits).
  • Conversion and Baptism (2 Credits).
  • Dalit Issues and Casteism (2 Credits).
  • Mission and Socio-Cultural Transformation (2 Credits).
